Challenge: Under the MISSION Act, Congress required VA to conduct a coast-to-coast review of its healthcare footprint relative to the demographics and medical needs of its Veteran constituency, in order to optimize care and best align limited resources.
Solution: Team AMC project teams conduct reviews and analysis of over 150 disparate data streams on a daily basis to develop and finalize communications packages that serve as the foundation for Market-based healthcare resource planning within individual VISNs. These communication packages are constantly aligned with VA Undersecretary’s priority to create a High Performing Network under the MISSION Act.
Benefit: While this project is still ongoing and is sensitive in nature, findings have not been publicly released. That said, the outreach efforts between research teams and Market/VISN staff have been directly enabled by the Team AMC’s project team.
